How to use this website

Welcome to the Regulation 18 consultation for the B&NES Local Plan.

Return to the Local Plan page

To meet the provisions set out in Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012 we are required to have an understanding of who is consulting on the Local Plan.

We need different information from different stakeholders, we have therefore created four different categories. These are

  • Residents
  • Statutory consultees (as defined by Regulation 2(1) of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulation 2012)
  • Agents, property developers and landowners
  • Business, civic groups, charities and community organisations

Our aim is not only to give consultees a better experience through the website but improve and simplify the way that we collect information.

We’ve kept our questions to a minimum, and you will only have to input this data once. The website will remember your answers if you are using the same device and have cookies enabled.

Once you’ve submitted your information, you’ll be taken to the consultation menu. The format of the following pages may look a little different to other consultations that we  have undertaken in the past, but they have been designed with the aim to improve the consultation experience.

To reflect the Options Document content has grouped into following sections

  • Setting the scene (Chapters 1-4)
  • Site options (by place and by interactive map)
  • Development Management policy options.

If your preference is to read the Options Document, the chapters are downloadable from these sections of the website. You will still need to return to this website to provide any feedback or comments.

An example for the Bath chapter is shown below. It can be accessed by navigating to the ‘Site options’ section.

The interactive map

To enhance your experience, you can explore sites via the interactive map. We have grouped the sites by ‘existing allocations’ and ‘site options’.

You can provide feedback and comments on sites in both groups by selecting a site from the map. A button will then appear on the left hand side of the screen with the text ‘click here to find out more’. By clicking on the button, you will be taken to the site specific webpage from which you can view the options for the site and provide your feedback and comments.

Evidence Base

The Evidence Base can be viewed from the consultation menu. It is grouped into the following categories

  • Topic papers
  • Evidence Reports
  • Appraisal and Assessments

Reports that are yet to be issued will be uploaded to the website as soon as they are available.

You can add your feedback and comments to almost every page of the website. You will find a comment box, like the one shown below, at the bottom of every page which contains content you can comment on.

Statutory consultees, agents, property developers and landowners are also invited to upload supporting documents/statements separately. We ask that you only upload documents that are essential to the Options consultation.
